Car Parking in Nelson
Pendle Council operates free long and short stay parking in Nelson.
When using the short stay car parks you are required to display a disc showing your time of arrival. You can pick up a free disc from nearby shops and Nelson Town Hall or telephone Highways on (01282) 661945.
Parkwise in Pendle
From 6th September 2004, Lancashire County Council together with the 12 District Councils took over responsibility for enforcing on street parking from the Police. These duties, previously carried out by Traffic Wardens, are now the responsibility of the District Council's Parking Attendents. This change is supported by the Police, and the new system is called Parkwise. This website also has details of how to appeal against a Penalty Charge Notice should this be required.
Blue Badge Scheme
Blue parking badges allow cars carrying people who are registered blind or people who have severe walking difficulties to be parked near shops, stations and other facilities. Lancashire County Council have developed a blue badge online application form.
