Elevate East Lancashire, more commonly know as Elevate, is the organisation which is co-ordinating the Housing Market Renewal programme in East Lancashire.
Elevate acts as an intermediary between the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Central Government) and the local councils. It will oversee HMR projects and investment from regional agencies, the private sector and other Government departments.
With funding of £100 million over the next two years, Elevate will work with local councils (Pendle, Burnley, Hyndburn, Rossendale, Blackburn with Darwen and Lancashire County Council) to help deliver an ambitious programme to revitalise key neighbourhoods, although the main implementation of the projects will rest with the individual local authority.
The Elevate board is made up of a wide selection of people who represent local and national interests including council leaders, local strategic partnerships, the Police, voluntary and community sector, housing associations, the Primary Care Trust and English Partnerships.
