
Pendle Borough Council has six Cemeteries and maintains five closed Churchyards and two Quaker burial grounds.
Barnoldswick/Ghyll Cemetery was opened in 1889 and measures 1.03 hectares in size. It is situated on the outskirts of Barnoldswick off Ghyll Lane. The site incorporates a memorial wall.
Barrowford Cemetery is situated off Colne Road aside Barrowford Park and near to the Heritage Centre, and measures 1.01 hectares. It was opened in 1930. The site incorporates memorial walls.
Barrowford Cemetery also has a woodland burial ground that is a more environmentally friendly type of Cemetery.
Colne Cemetery is the largest Cemetery in the Council's care, situated off Keighley Road, and measuring 4.61 hectares in size. Colne Cemetery was opened in 1860. The site incorporates a Chapel of Rest and memorial walls.

Earby Cemetery was opened in 1887 and measures 0.93 hectares in size. It is situated off Cemetery Road, near the centre of Earby. The site incorporates memorial walls.
Nelson Cemetery is situated off Walton Lane, and is 4.22 hectares in size. It was opened in 1895. The site incorporates a Chapel of Rest and a memorial wall is to be developed shortly.
Salterforth Cemetery was opened in 1903 and is the smallest cemetery the Council has in its care, measuring just 0.39 hectares. Salterforth Cemetery is situated off Salterforth Lane. The site incorporates a memorial wall (for plaques only).

If you have a relative or a friend who is buried in one of the Council's Cemeteries but you don't know where, the Council can perform a grave search on your behalf. A fee is payable for this service.
