Over 30% of the local workforce continue to be employed in manufacturing, a figure more than double the national average. The continued success of local manufacturing companies is, therefore, vital to the future health of the local economy. Equally important is the need to attract new businesses to the area that will help to diversify and further strengthen the local economic base.
To achieve these objectives the Unit has established a comprehensive range of grant assistance to help support businesses looking to:
- Purchase machinery and equipment
- Construct new business premises
- Extend or improve existing buildings
- Improve security
- Identify new customers and exploit new markets
- Introduce new technology and processes
- Undertake physical environmental improvements
- Relocate into, or within, Pendle
- Introduce accredited training for members of staff
